What a GREAT review! I've been interested in this movie, but hadn't done anything about viewing it. I'm checking into it, for sure, now.

My first daughter was born as naturally as possible with a nurse midwife in a hospital. Even though it was nothing compared to a c-section, there were things that occurred that I was very displeased about. I cannot imagine being in your position, but wish you continued healing until the wound of the situation surrounding Ryan's birth is completely mended.

My second daughter was born at home with an angel guided midwife. Her birth healed so many of my hurts and sorrows (not just about her older sister's birth, either). I certainly wouldn't recommend having another child for just the birth, but if that's an option, meaning that you'd like another, I highly recommend it! My #2 is an amazing blessing and joy to me.

Currently I'm "overdue" with #3 and waiting to have my second home birth. I expect things will go marvelously and we'll welcome another child, in the joy and peace of our home, to our family!

Thank you for reviewing this movie. Your review has definitely motivated my interest (and I'm already a home birth advocate!).

Your review of the movie is excellent! I watched it and loved it.

I had one birthing center birth and two home births. I felt so grateful after watching that film. I cried at parts, too.

You are not alone in your reaction to your c-section. I read a book about c-sections that showed the sadness, anger and depression that follows c-sections for some women.

Thanks for the great post!

I haven't yet seen the film; I was actually googling to watch it on-line when I found your blog. I can totally relate to you & feeling angry about your birth! I feel that way about both of mine, and now am faced with deciding what to do with the babe now within.

Great review! I hope you can work through your feelings. Birthing, no matter how it happens, is a wonderful, unique part of one's womanhood.
