There is an exciting family-centered magazine with a focus on natural and organic lifestyles. The magazine, as you can see from the cover shot, is KIWI!
KIWI “shares the desire held by all parents to create a safe, happy environment for our children that promotes growth and well-being.”
I found out about KIWI a few months ago when one of their writers contacted me to be interviewed for a story on delaying vaccines. She had come across my blog post on the subject. While our schedules didn’t work out for me to be interviewed for her story, I looked at KIWI‘s website, and loved what I saw.
There are so many interesting natural living articles ranging from family, to health, to social responsibility to eco-friendly crafts. There are organic and natural recipes, a “goodie” section-including contests, and a special section just for kids! And of course, they even have a terrific blog, The Kiwi Log.

I love that they feature green crafts. My daughter is now at the age when she likes to color, draw and create things in general. I know she would love to help me make their embroidered journal cover, and I can’t wait to see what future projects KIWI will feature. I found the magazine’s web site a few weeks ago and was planning on subscribing anyway. I would love to win a subscription!

I found this magazine in my Peditricians office and fell in love with it. I wanted to walk out with it but didn’t. I love the practicality of it all and even signed up to be a parent advisor as soon as I got home.

I’ve recycled sweaters to make wool longies (can replace a diaper cover for CDing–it won’t leak). I’m thinking of trying to make some of these pillows for people for Christmas! We are going to try not to run up credit card bills this Christmas, and I think handmade gifts are best anyway. They come from the heart.
